Happy International Translation Day! Every year, Amara looks for different ways to thank and celebrate the translators and interpreters around the globe for the work they do in making it possible to connect people and nations of the world together.
This year, we’d like to help everyone thank the translators in their lives by offering free downloadable social media cards that anyone can use to share on their favorite social networks!

Twitter images can be made accessible for the visually impaired, so of course we recommend that you fill in the alternative text “ALT” description when you tweet the image! Here are the official instructions from Twitter. It’s pretty straightforward once you have uploaded the image to Twitter, they ask you if you want to add the ALT text. Be aware, once you have entered it, you can’t edit, so check for grammatical errors and typos before you publish!

Wherever this image is hosted, the ALT descriptions should describe the image only, such as “A thank you card with a hand propping up a globe that says ‘Happy International Translation Day’ and ‘Thank you for bridging the language divide’.” That’s what we have used here in this article, so if you’re pinning this to Pinterest, the work has been done for you!
