We are working hard to continue to earn your trust with the way we treat and protect your personal information. To that end we’ve updated the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy that apply to Amara (an initiative of the nonprofit Participatory Culture Foundation), for all users globally. They are more user-friendly and comply with new European data regulations (GDPR).
Here are some of the key changes:
- Improved navigation and user-friendly language: We simplified the language and have reformatted the policy, enabling users to find important information more easily. We also share clearer explanations about the personal information we collect, how we collect it, and who we share it with.
- Control and corrections: The privacy policy shares information on how to opt out of certain data collection processes, as well as how to get in touch if you need to make corrections to your information or have any questions.
In the coming weeks and months, we will roll out a few more authentication improvements. We will also be working to further clarify our policies and will continue adding illustrative examples that explain how and where personal data might be used.
