May Volunteer of the Month – Taylor Ma

May Volunteer of the Month – Taylor!

This month we’re honoring Taylor Ma for her role in translating DO-IT videos into Chinese. Thanks for all your work Taylor!

Why I started to subtitle: I became a volunteer with DO-IT to practice my translations skills and I tried to find an area I would be interested in. So I browsed through the introduction of DO-IT and found that I could probably help to translate the videos to make them more accessible in Chinese.

What I Like about Subtitling: I like the process of learning about other cultures and helping others to learn a different language.

Why I think subtitling is important: because it helps to spread ideas from other countries and bring and share them with my peers.

Favorite video I’ve worked on: The most interesting video I’ve subtitled is called Quorum which is something I am not familiar with, but I learn a lot from it!
