Amara sponsors the Best Language Video category for the ICTV Video Awards!

In honor of the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples on August 9, 2025, Amara.org proudly recognizes the power of Indigenous voices and stories.

We were honored to sponsor the Best Language Video category at the ICTV (Indigenous Community Television) Video Awards, held on July 17, 2025, in Bidyadanga, Western Australia. This inspiring event brought together ICTV contributors from across Australia to celebrate their creative work and cultural impact over the past two and a half years.

The nominated videos featured powerful storytelling in a range of Indigenous Australian languages, including Arrernte, Martu Wangka, Ngaanyatjarra, and Warlpiri—demonstrating the vital role of language in preserving culture and identity.

Congratulations to the winner of the Best Language Video category, proudly sponsored by Amara.org! Your work is a testament to the strength and beauty of Indigenous languages and communities:

Marlangkatjaku (For The Young People) with Lyall Giles, produced by the Goldfields Aboriginal Language Centre Aboriginal Corporation (GALCAC).

(spoken in Ngaanyatjarra)

Working together, Amara.org and ICTV play a crucial role in promoting and maintaining linguistic diversity, particularly for minority and Indigenous languages, by making content more accessible and inclusive. Using Amara’s innovative Editor Integration solution, our award-winning Subtitle Editor is embedded in ICTV Play, an online community for sharing and accessing media made by and for Indigenous people in remote Australia.

This partnership empowers creators and their followers on ICTV Play to create subtitles and translations in Indigenous languages, fostering greater accessibility and preserving these rich cultural heritages.
